1.
In the dead of night Guided by candle light Ghosts came in droves And surrounded our homes We saw right through them. And they saw right through us. The silence was broken when their words cut right to the bone We saw right through them. And they saw right through us. We ran for our lives. They chased for the same. We hid quiet and still But they found us anyways They dragged us out into the streets Still wrapped in our blankets and sheets Shivering softly, We were swiftly erased In the dead of night And on our death bed
2.
I came to, as salted sun kissed air blew upon me no need to worry as blue sets to red this house comes crashing, crumbling down before me a picture so serene casting out to sea the misty mountain peaks reign above me in all their glory I've never seen such green for Mother Nature swallows up this city and finally I can breathe nothing lasts forever the grass is always greener walking this spiral path, as water swiftly runs down below me these buildings seem so small now these roads I've drove for years although at times they feel far too familiar I think I'll stay awhile now all I know is when I'm on the road nothing compares to the comforts of home
3.
An hour away for years We'll dance on opposite sides of the wreckage Then pen touched paper and all was lost But we'll find it again I'm not afraid to see your face I know it's just a place When we're young we all make mistakes But now we're older With age comes sense and tender grace Let's just start over An hour away for years We've danced on opposite sides of the wreckage Then skin touched skin And all was well Relief came in seconds When we're young we all make mistakes But now we're older With age comes sense and tender grace Let's just start over

have you found your calling familiar although hollow as you pass me by continuing to follow with no real reason why don't be so negative maybe they feel the same endorphins fueled by numbers the ones that feed your pride if you were to call us friends they'd see straight through your lies have you heard they're calling i'll answer
5.
I walked in at midnight to a smoke filled apartment. Saw all my friends on couches or in blankets on the carpet. I made my way through the hallway to the backroom. Your parent's bedroom. I saw your face. It's safe to say, my knees are weak. I hadn't seen you in weeks. We never know just where we're headed, but we know we're going home. Home is where the heart is. Well, my heart's in pieces, strewn across the states. My heart's in basements. In different houses, in distant towns so far away. Away from what makes you you in a place that does that too. Feeling lately like please take me Home. Sometimes this city starts to look a little grey. We need to leave for just a little while to see the colors shine again. In every map and every exit sign, I see your face. We've got to share what we've been given. Chase the beauty in the distance. We're not lost. We just needed to roam. Please leave the porch light on so we can find our way home.

when you're on your phone you don't have to learn how to be alone you're alone your technology tricks your mind you don't know what to believe I believe give it up (don't give up) put it down (don't look down) is this on (if it is) turn it off I have a question and two answers why do we do things we know we shouldn't do our devices are our vices they're distracting me and you when I'm in my head I know that they're things I should do instead but instead my body tricks my mind and I can't even stop me can't stop me I have a question and two answers why do we do things we know we shouldn't do all our reasons they're unpleasing they're distracting me and you just do what you know you should do
